OUR LUCAYA course uses water hazards sparingly, and the tift dwarf greens remain protected by classic bunkers similar to
Cog Hill in Chicago, and Shinnecock Hills on Long Island.
Length, combined with wide target areas off the tee and superb receptive greens keep OUR LUCAYA course an admirable challenge that golfers want to play again and again.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., this new links style course is as appealing to play as it is to the eye. At 6,930 yards from the championship tees, with water making its presence felt on 13 of 18 holes, it provides a true challenge. The tantalizing allure of the lakeside undulating greens invite every golfer to shoot for the pin, forgetting the very large bunkers protecting every green. On many holes the golfer has two choices, depending on the tradewinds, go for the green, or go for the bunker.

Anything to avoid the water. The rolling fairways have a great flow, seldom seen on a course in the islands. Shotmaking ability and a strong short game will help golfers conquer this breathtaking new course.

"There was a golf course here and this is the first course built in the Bahamas since the late 1960s. It had been let go during the less economic time. we went out and found the land as it was, got it cleaned up, and used the lakes as they were. It's an environmentally sensitive golf course. We added some new lakes, we moved hundreds of thousands of yards of Earth, and tried to give it some roll and flow. We want it to be a resort course, playable, interesting, and when the wind is up, it can be very exciting. It's a great balance."

Welcome to the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort. I truly believe we are creating one of the finest teaching facilities in the world, right here on Grand Bahama Island.

We have two incredibly beautiful and challenging golf courses. The Lucayan Course, designed by Dick Wilson and the links-style Reef Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

We have new indoor and outdoor practice facilities, an extensive short game area, state-of-the-art computerized video equipment to help analyze your unique swing. Most important of all, we have a teaching philosophy that began with my father, Claude Harmon, and has been honed by my family and my associates ever since. It's a philosophy that's based on helping you understand your own individual game.

Since the instruction is so personalized, it can work for players such as Tiger Woods, Darren Clarke, and Mark Calcavecchia
- all of whom have very different styles.
